My blogging experience

Well, when I knew that will have to write all the class in the blog, I thought: “That is very difficult “, “I can´t”... But, then, when I wrote the second or third post, like magic, I wrote without problems! The first blogs was very short, as 100 words, but, for me, that was too much! The same thing happened with the followings two posts. But, when we had to write about an artist, I wrote almost 400 words! Well, I say, that isn’t very difficult as I though... And I began to enjoy it.
I’ve enjoyed the blogging experience because I’ve learned very much and the topics we have to write about are very interesting, in general. I like when we have to express own opinion about important matter as the education. In these cases you can say the things that you think.
An important part of the task is reading the classmates’ blogs, because you can learn from them. And then of the reading, you have to write a comment. With this, you practice your writing and your reading compression in the same time. This is very useful. And, obviously, is very important to know the opinion of your classmates and in very cases is very funny!
I can say that the blogging experience have been very fruitful because it help me for to understand papers in English. In very subject I’ve had that read papers in English, and, the post and the lecture of this paper it help me for improve my English.
I think that the advantages of the blogging experience are lots. You can improve your writing in English, and thus, you can improve your spoken English. In my opinion, the blog is an excellent form for to practice, and haven’t disadvantages.

The Maria Graciela's Blog

I`m review the blog of María Graciela, I chose their blog because I think that she has post very interested. Their topic always I like it.
Well, the name of their blog isn`t very attractive but its posts are. Their blog call it english3blog. In the María Graciela’s blog there are 11 posts. I read almost all their publications and, particularly, the features that I like about their blog are the design of it, and, obviously, the topics about what she writes.
There are three post that I really like it: “Quinta Normal Park”, “Plug in baby!” and “Rock, Freedom and love!”. I like this post because we coincide. I love the Quinta Nomal Park, In fact, I told her in a comment in their blog. In my opinion, Janis Joplin is a great singer, and she used as excuse the technology for speak about her!, and the photo that she published with their post to express the feeling of the rock. And, Although I prefer other concert of that period: as concert for Bangladesh of Harrison, or the concert of Lennon in New York or Toronto, I think that in the Woodstock Fest played incredible bands: The Who, The Jimmy Hendrix Experience, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, and others. In my opinion, the Woodstock Fest is the decadence that a movement that could be better.
About their English I think that is good, there are some sentences that seem to lack words, for example: The oposition of the freedom fenced in behind. And, the correct word is opposition, with two P.I think that she should be more attentive when she writes their post, because she knows to write and to speak in English, maybe it is the time or the sleepyness!.

Champions?

I'm not a "hincha" of "la roja", in fact, I never see the games of Chile because, in general, they always lose the games. Maybe, is a curse. But, that day was different.
I wake up at 7 0'clock and I listen to "cueca"... well, this is very patriotic but was part of the situation...
Before of begin of the game a friend did a bet with other friend, the same friend that told me about the earthquake (in the second post), he said that the star player of the game will be Boseyur!
When the game began I was very nervous, because I had the image of a loser team. But the team gave me a surprise! their plays was very good and intelligent, the team is really good and strong in comparison with previous Chileans team.
I think that the keys players of the team in this game were: Claudio Bravo, Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sánchez, the "pitbull" Gary Medel, Fernández y Boseyur. I think that the principal strength shown by Chilean team were the plays in group, the passes the arrives to the goal. The elegance for the game. It remarkable the attitude of the players with the opposite team, because, when one of the players of Honduras was injure or was attack, the Chilean player that had the ball, he threw it outside of the court. This is a clean game and which the people call sports spirit. In my opinion, the weaknesses of the team were the poor aim. The game could be finish with a difference of 3 or 5 goals, but the players miss very opportunities.
The play of Honduras team wasn't very good, but the trainer of Honduras wasn't present, this is an important factor. Well, about the players, I think that Pavón was only "pavoneando", he fall lonely! More over, he was with overweight.
About the stars of the game: Boseyur did the goal that gave the victory for the Chilean team; Bravo, always very sure, stopped all the intents of goals by Honduras. Sánchez, Vidal and Fernández and their great plays. I think that is a very good team, only lack a little of self-confident.
The people say that Chile will be champions, they say that Bielsa will bring the victory for the Chilean team.
Dreams or not, I think that isn't be bad a little of happiness for the Chilean people.

John and Yoko

I’m going to speak about a picture that I love it: one photographe of John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
I knew this photographe by a friend that is The Beatles fanatic. He told me about John Lennon and their music. The lyrics of Lennon, after The Beatles, are very interesting because he speak about their life, the things that he feel and think. But, I have to speak about the picture.

I don`t know the name of the photographer that took this picture, but I know that he worked for the Rolling Stones Review. Well, in this picture appears John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Yoko is in the floor, she wear black clothes. Instead, John isn’t clothes, he is naked. He is embrace Yoko, and she have their hands on their head. He kiss her in their cheek.
This picture has and special effect, because seems that John hung of Yoko. And this is the sence that the couple wont to express. The love between two persons. John Lennon believed in a “matriarchy”, in fact, when Josh Lennon was born, Lennon stayed in home and Yoko went to work.
This picture express that feeling when you feel as a virgin (this is the reason of the "Two virgins” album ). John Lennon wont to express their dependence and love by Yoko.
This picture was taken in 1980, and the Rolling Stones Review publish it when John Lennon was assassinate in the same year. The review publish only the photo, without a title.
I like this picture because is very artistic and very real. The picture do that you feel that thing so rare that the people call love.

Education and the social reproduction

The video of the conference of Sir Ken Robinson about of Human Creativity and Education raised a central problem about the society and their reproduction. Maybe this sound confused, but I’m going to explained.
The Sir Robinson says that all the children have incredibly talents or capacities; and they have the possibility for innovations. Why? When we are children we aren’t in the “system”, although the family is the unity of shape the persons, in the schools this is stronger, is a mechanism of control and social reproduction.
The school is the place where you are educated, and there we only learn which is useful for the system. To the system want engineer, lawyer and doctors. Isn’t necessary artist, philosopher, anthropologies, sociologies, for this in the schools is so important the mathematics, the biology, the physics.
Education is the place of the social reproduction, the reproduction of the economic system. The people live in the culture, and the culture is that system of production, circulation and consume of the signification in the social life. I suggest that the culture is leaned by all of us. We are cultural beings, we learning it and then we reproduce it. The culture is the essence of the human and as is THE form of the social reproduction, the culture can be used for the hegemony groups for the reproduction of their economy system.
The culture is learned in the family and in the school. Education does that things as the exploitation, the work and the division sexual are looked at as naturals. In the school we learn to reproduce the economy system….
Well, this isn't very encouraging.

My cell phone and my notebook

To speak about technology it's very difficult because we related it with very complexes machines, I think. But we can see the technology in lots things, for example, clothes to water proof or object that do the life more easy as a toothbrush!
I think that one technology object that is very practice for me is my cell phone, although is very very very old and obsolete. I got my cell phone by a recommendation of my teacher's violin. I had the class of violin in Puerto Varas, I lived in Fresia and I had that travel one hour for assist to my classes. Sometimes, my teacher couldn't do the class and as I hadn't cell phone she couldn't call me. For this, I decided to buy my cell phone, I have it since 2006, I think.
Now I study in Santiago and my family live in Fresia and the only form that I have for to speak with them is my cell phone. I think that should be very difficult for me to live here without knowing nothing about them!

Other object that I think that is very useful and I like it is my notebook. I got it in 2008 in my first year of career. I obtained a grant of the town council of Fresia because I had, I have still, very goods marks. Well, with the money of this grant I bought my notebook. This object is my life! Without it I couldn't do the works for the University. I have all my music, photos and videos there too. I think that my notebook is inmortal because I haven't done the support of my information still!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chile is a country with a nature exceptional of north to south. When I had 17 years old I did the more special travel of my life, because was the first.
The place that I visited is in the eight region. First, I was in San Carlos, a typical city of the central area of the country. The houses were very different to the houses of the south. Here were of marinade very very olds. The houses are very beautiful, but now for the earthquake, all this old houses are in the floor.
I stayed in the house of a friend, and their family was very kind with me. The house is very big and there lived lots cats (the cat in the principal photo of that blog live in this house).
But the reason of that travel was climb the mountain of Andes. For this, first we had that arrive to San Fabian de Alico, a village in the foothills with a stream of crystals clears waters.
The ascent to the mountain is wonderful! I saw millennial trees and a nature almost virgin. The people climb in the summer because in winter the snow do impossible the ascent.
Later of five hours of climb I arrived to Laguna de la Plata. This is a beautiful place, and there is a glacial there!!! Then of rest ones hours, we continued the ascent to Laguna Añil. When we arrived there was magnificent, I only saw mountains until the infinite, and between the mountains a lake the celestials waters.
I love this place because is very beautiful, sadly a company want to do a dam in this place. I hope that the government takes conscience about this situation…..
Well, I recommend visit Chile before there are have dams in all places.

Violeta Parra, Chilean artist

I’m going to speak about a person that isn’t important in my field. I’m going to speak about of a “craftswoman”: Violeta Parra.
She was born in 1917 in San Carlos, in the Eighth region. When she was a child, she lived in Chillán. I know the house where she lived their first infancy in San Carlos, unfortunately the house have serious damages by the earthquake.
It’s very interesting that all the people important in the area of the arts and literature are of the Eighth region: Pablo Neruda, Pablo de Rokha, Víctor Jara, and the Parra’s family: Nicanor Parra, and “Uncle Roberto” and “Uncle Lalo”.
She is known for their music, but was poet ant plastic artist too. In fact, she was the first Chilean in to exhibit in the Louvre in Paris.
I think that their work is very interesting. The people say that she was a craftswoman, but I think that she is an artist. Their work wasn’t a simple copy of a piece of craftwork; It’s an operation of recodifying and introduce new elements. For example when she compiled the “folk” music, and then she made their song, with base in the popular singings, changed the structure of the melodic line. There is an intellectual operation.
In the sack-cloths, she used a technique that wasn’t a speciality of this artist; all the people can do that. This is folklore, and the folklore is the form of the culture that can unit more firmly to the people. The folklore is something that can represent and homogenize to the people and they feel part of one virtual community, the folk community.
She is a person special because she comes of a field alien to the art field. And she was admitted in the art field of Paris! I think that she is a person that should be recognized how artist, because that is.
She committed suicide in 1967. I think that isn’t terrible. This a poet act, you are who decide the hour of your dead, not death.

Tatlin and the Russian Constructivism

To say who is my favorite artist it's very difficult because all the artist have something special. I prefer the Chilean and Latin American Art, in general, but as I don't known very much about this YET, I'm going to speak about of my favorite artistic movement of Avant-garde: the Russian Constructivism. And, my favorite artist of this movement is Vladimir Tatlin.
The Russian Constructivism was a movement of Avant-garde, whose center was the union or relationship between art and life, that was born with the Russian Revolution in 1917. The constructivism was connected with the political project of the new Socialist State and they should unit the art and the life. With the new State, the form of organize the society changed, and the material culture too. In this area, the artist of the Constructivism played a fundamental role, he had to help in the construction of this new society. The art should change in form and content. Because, the art in this new society, should not describe the world, but to change the world. Consequently, this art was abstract and geometric. The artists of the Russian Constructivism proposed a new concept of artist: the builder-artist. This artist was a new type of working-class completely united to the society in where he lived.
Tatlin was the leader of this movement. In 1919, Tatlin designed a model for a monument to the Revolution. But, in 1920, he decided to dedicated the monument to the Third International, a meeting of the working-class. This work of art is known as “The Third International Monument”. The model was a structure in upward spiral of wood with geometric forms in their inside. It was the proletarian Eiffel tower. Although this project isn't fulfilled, this tower should be building on Neva river, in the center of Petersburgo, and their height should be of 400 meters. Today, there are only a pair of photographs of the model and a replica of it.
I think that this piece of art it's great because is striking. In 1920 a person wanted to make a project that, for the technology of that time, was impossible. In that time, the artist believed firmly in their artist project. They believed that could unit the art and the life together. I think that spirit is fascinating.

BBC Learning English

The site BBC Learning English is very good. I thought, ah a site in English.
That is boring. But, I was wrong.
In the category General & Business English you can see notice
about different topic. In this site I knew that Malcolm McLaren,
the singer of Sex Pistols, died last week! Well, but this isn’t
important for the objective of the site, I’m refer to the contents of
the notice. In the site there is a question: What was the stage name
of the singer? There are three alternatives, and you can hear a
program where you can hear the answer: letter b, Johnny Rotten.
In the category quizzes, you can test your English and practice it.
There are quizzes, crosswords, and others.
But the best category is The Flatmates. The Flatmates is
soap opera and you can see it on YouTube. I saw an episode
about of a girl whose “friend’s friend” had a problem. You can
see the soap opera, to hear a learn English and the dialogues are written.
The better is that the site is very funny. The site is brilliant, great!

February 27th 2010. The country changed. The destiny
of millions of Chileans was broken.
I was in my home, in Fresia. I slept when the
bed began to move. I remember that I called to
my Father. I woke up, and ran out of the room. But,
I couldn’t walk. My house moved like a boat.
My father was with me. But, my mother
stayed in bed, she was very relaxed.

It Was very difficult because in my home was
a friend that from of Chillan. He couldn´t sleep.
He knew that the epicenter was in Concepcion.
It`s curious because that night, He told me:
“Today there will be an earthquake”. The weather
and the moon were very estranging.

I was very afraid. I thought, isn’t a tremor.
It’s an earthquake. But, Where?
In that moment, I took conscience that
many people could have died.
In the morning, my friend took a bus to
Puerto Montt. Since that moment I didn't
know of him until two or three days later.

Fortunately, their family was fine. But, he lost their house.
Well, I only can say that was a decisive fact.
Changed the country, changed the people
and changed the politics. The future is uncertain.
